Community Assistance Plan – COVID-19

Clerk Gallery

Dear residents,

The Town Council is overwhelmed and humbled by the many offers of help during this pandemic. We feel that in order for this help to be effective we need a central base and, as such, the Town Council is proposing the following:

The town council office (‘The Hub’, adjacent to the Doctors surgery) will be opened up to accept donations of food and other household essentials on a DAILY BASIS between 16:00-17:00

If you cannot get to the office we will also collect anything you wish to donate.

Entrance will be via the back door and the option will be available to leave donations in the foyer if you don’t wish to come into contact.

We also request volunteers to undertake the following:
• Deliver goods to those in need
• A friendly phone call to those in need
• Donate anything that you feel will be of benefit to someone in our community
• Deliver leaflets asking if anyone needs help
• Purchase an extra item or two that you can donate to this cause
• Help in any way they can

We understand that a lot of work has already been undertaken by the community and this is in no way an attempt to ‘tread on anyone’s toes’ but an attempt to centralise all these great offers of help. We also hope it will reassure residents, particularly those who may be vulnerable, that all volunteers are genuine as, unfortunately, there are reports in other areas of bogus callers taking advantage of this situation.

This response will be led by the Council and individual councillors but it needs the support of our amazing residents to be successful so please help if you are able.

Many thanks,

Crowle and Ealand Town Council.
